Farmhouse Takeover
Book NowYour class will become hands-on history investigators in this fun learning session designed to bring the daily routine of a 1900s rural family to life. Pupils will have the chance to take over Corradreenan Farmhouse, and get busy with the kinds of chores that children did in the past– using real museum tools and equipment. It’s not all housework though, as there are plenty of jobs to tend to out in the yard too. Our team will help your class reflect on the connection between farm life and the changing seasons and explore themes relating to food and farming. There’ll be a chance to taste some home-made soda bread, and discuss where our food came from in the past and where it comes from today. At the end of the session, we find out who thinks they could live in the early 1900s, and who would prefer to stay in the present day with all our modern conveniences!
