Discover all things pollinators on Thursday 17th April with Pauline Campbell (Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) representative on the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan Steering Group) and Owen Beckett (National Biodiversity Data Centre (NBDC)). 

Find out how you can get involved as citizen scientists through the UK Pollinator Monitoring Scheme (PoMS), Flower-Insect Timed (FIT) counts and the All-Ireland Bumblebee Monitoring Scheme. A citizen scientist is a member of the public who collects and analyses data relating to the natural world. If you have an interest in pollinators-come join us!

What to know

  • Please ask our admissions desk to direct you to the Lagan Room on arrival. 
  • All levels of species identification experience are welcome and anyone with an interest in pollinators. 
  • Suitable clothing and footwear for the possibility of being outside during the session.
  • Please bring along a camera or mobile phone (iRecord/iNaturalist app) and small note pad and pencil.
  • Please consider bringing along sunscreen, a hat and water
  • Tea/Coffee will be provided.
