Tractors on a field as part of Ferguson Tractor Day at Folk Museum
Date
Saturday 29th June
Time
10:00 to 17:00

Celebrate the heritage of the Ferguson Tractor on Saturday 29th June at the Ulster Folk Museum, with ploughing and cultivating demonstrations using vintage Ferguson tractors.

Watch a ‘concours d'elegance’, featuring a convoy of prized and rare Ferguson Tractors as they make their way throughout the Folk Museum to the sounds of the Harry Ferguson pipe band (who will be unveiling a new drum this year at this event). There'll also be traditional music, craft demonstrations and more!

Henry George “Harry” Ferguson was a pioneer in engineering. He was born locally in County Down and is celebrated as a great innovator, having played a major role in the mechanical implementation of farming and agriculture on an international scale.

Our Ballycultra Tearooms will be open for a selection of delicious hot food items and sweet treats. Please feel free to bring along picnics and snacks which can be eaten in our outdoor picnic areas.

As part of Ferguson Tractor Day, we are also celebrating Ferguson’s achievements in aviation and will be screening a series of short films throughout the day in the picture house. The five-part series of short films, produced by Subculture Productions, celebrates Ferguson’s technical achievements and his undying spirit and enduring impact on the field of aviation.
