Become a Blacksmith for the day at this bespoke, craft workshop on Saturday 6th July.
At the Folk Museum, we have a fantastic team of in-house skilled craftspeople who keep our heritage skills and traditions alive for future generations. Join us for the first workshop in a series of in-depth bespoke sessions where you can spend the entire day with one of our expert demonstrators, and make something to bring home with you!
Blacksmith, Matthew Walton, will show you around the Forge and explain traditional blacksmithing skills. Then you'll make two pieces to bring home, a bottle opener and leaf key ring, in this hands-on experience.
What to know
- This is a full-day bespoke workshop on Saturday 6th July from 10:00 to 16:00
- Lunch is included. We will be in touch to discuss dietary requirements. Please do feel free to bring additional drinks and snacks
- For ages 18+
- This is an intimate workshop with limited places so booking early is recommended.
- Please ensure to wear suitable footwear. No open toe shoes can be worn we would recommend sturdy boots are worn. Please get in touch to discuss with us further if you need any further info at [email protected]
- If you find that you are not a master blacksmith and your pieces don’t turn out as planned don’t despair! We will ensure that pieces have been made in advance just in case.
